Two Days to Order

Just a quick reminder that the last day to order costumes from me (for Halloween delivery) is Oct. 1st. I'll probably offer costumes after the 1st but charge a substantial rush fee (because I've got a whole lot to sew up before Halloween already). I'm hoping to have a few ready to ship costumes but to be honest I may just be spending all my time filling the orders I've received in the last couple of weeks.

Thanks for keeping me so busy!

Tuesday: Island's Knock Off Tortilla Soup (gotta use up the garden peppers)
Wednesday: Taco Mac and Cheese

Losing you wallet sucks but ...

I guess it means you have to replace it. Yup I lost my wallet last weekend which was so much more than a wallet. I had my little Black Apple Mirror in it, a cross that I got when I was in Ireland, my thumb drives (with all my dissertation work on it), and other irreplaceables in addition to the normal wallet stuff.

I finally broke down and canceled/reordered my debit cards (I had 4 in there) got a new license (the picture is way worse than my old one) and called to find out how I can replace my children's museum membership card. Just all my Rae Gun wholesale stuff, Costco and Insurance cards to go blahhhh.

Anyways these are the top contenders for a replacement.
1. legal pad pocketbook
2. bird bifold
3. tattoo girl frame wallet (you need to check this out the style is so cool)
4. bewitched wallet
5. Godzilla vs. unicorn wallet
6. blue bird accordian wallet
7. vintage storybook wallet
8.rasberry ruffle
9. Martini everything trifold (she also sells the pattern for this design!)

um I kinda want them all.

Some Lovely Features

Rae Gun has been featured at a couple of fun places lately feel
free to check out these fun sites. My Dorothy costume got a mention on the lovely Your Heart Out blog and my Fries at Creepy Queen Magazine. Thanks for the lovely mentions. We also were lucky enough be be a part of Slave to Save's giveaway extravaganza. Unfortunately that ended 9/21 but the right up is pretty nice and she's still got other giveaways going on. Finally a fellow EtsyKids team mate let me know that she's featured my little pirate costume on her blog at sweet pea blossoms. Oops and I just realized that Dorothy also got a nice mention in Etsy's Storque today. Ah features are fun!

p.s. don't forget the giveaways to the left.
p.s.s. I've got the rest of the Halloween skirts sewn up but I keep on forgetting to photograph them. A bunch should appear in the store this week.
p.s.s.s. I'm cutting off Halloween orders on October 1st so if you've been waiting to order.... Also you might be interested to know that I've got a few other costumes that I'm adding to the options, last minute I know but I should have those up by Friday, I hope (but they are a big sis pirate, a brother pirate, and maybe more tutus if I don't get them up in time I'll try to make a couple extra that will be ready to ship).

GIVEAWAY: Halloween Skirt (closed)

So here is my first installment of Halloween Themed Cake Shop Skirts. I love the style of these skirts and I feel like these are one of those things that's hard to capture the coolness through the computer screen. My nieces wear their cupcake ones all the time and they're just so easy to play in while being totally cute on their little tushes all at once. I've added these first three to the shop and I'll be adding more as I get them finished up.

I've got 4 more Halloween skirts cut out but I wanted to get a giveaway started, so I'll have to share those later. This is the one I'm giving a way. It's my "mini" size, this one is just about 8" long which would be great for a munchkin age 9 months to 2 years (maybe even older). The sizing is flexible it's really the length that matters and if it's a tad short I think this would be so cute over leggings on an older girl.

To Enter:
Step 1. Blog, twitter, facebook, or post to some other internet thingy (ex. forums) a link to this post. Feel free to use the picture too if you want.

I'm looking forward to

Giveaway: Pirate Mustache Pouch (closed)

I finally got a new camera that I am absolutely loving. I decided that at this point in my life I just won't be an SLR gal and carry around a huge camera and lenses so I wanted to upgrade my purse perfect point and shoot. I got this one.

Of course I needed a new camera case so I made this weirdo pirate mustache pouch out of this cool boat quality vinyl. I made another pouch to share. These are my first two pouches ever. The giveaway pouch is about 4x5 inches and would be great for little ones trinkets or aunty and mama's run out the door pouch. It can hold a cell phone, chapstick and some money. If you're really talented you may be able to squeeze in some more goodies. So I am fully aware that this is one of my more bizarre creations but hopefully someone who bumps into this will think its cute enough to enter and win.

To enter to win this pouch:

Step 1: Link back to this blog post on your blog, facebook, or other internet thing-y. Click here to create a blogger link. Get a second entry if you follow my blog for the first time (see the little widgets to the left to follow the blog or become a fan on facebook).

What's for Dinner: Week 3

(last weeks big salad, I ahem didn't realize we didn't have chicken so I improvised with some taco meat)

Monday: Apple Sausage Mac and Cheese
Tuesday: Big Salad (not sure what kind yet)
Wednesday: Panang Curry and Spring rolls
Thursday: Tomato Basil Wine Pasta (we didn't have this last week)
Friday: Something with Potatoes (I need to use those guys)
Saturday: Still thinking about this one
Sunday: Golf Dinner out

As you can see I'm not quite ready yet so if you have suggestions for me I'll take them. I'm trying really hard not to buy groceries this week so part of this is that I need to check what meat I've got in the freezer.

Have a good Labor Day.

Show and Tell: Abby's B-day Outfit

My favorite part of custom orders is that I get to make stuff that I really wanted to make but haven't made time too or things that I didn't even know I wanted to try. I've been wanting to make tutus for a long time and I totally enjoyed making the lollipop onesie. She's having a lollipop party, how cute is that!

I trimmed the top of the skirt so it wouldn't be itchy and if you zoom in (by clicking on the photo) I love the teeny bow that is on the lollipop stick. There will be many more tutus to come and hopefully some more cute onesies. A big thanks to Abby's mom for giving me the project such a fun project. Both of these are making an appearance in the shop.

RaeGun Finds: ABC Blocks

I purchased a couple sets of these amazing blocks from Rachelle over at Nursery Love. I absolutely love them. And to be honest at first I thought they were a tad pricey but seriously after they arrived and seeing them in real life I totally believe they are worth every penny.

I did a custom order to make sure we had the right letters to spell out Lanna, Tira and the whole alphabet. They are beautiful, well made, unique and perfect for developing all kinds of skills in the wee ones. She is also having a special free shipping to all her facebook fans so go become a fan of hers and use the code IMAFAN at checkout when you order and she'll refund you back your shipping (so that means free shipping woohoo).

If you want your own blocks you can find a similar set to mine here or I'm sure she'd be happy to work with anyone to come up with their own custom set. Also she has these super cute picture blocks which I ahem bought a set of DIY ones ages ago but haven't gotten to assembling them. Find a finished set of those here. Seriously they are so cool and the photos just don't do them justice.
