Not Sure What to Do

So it's my first attempt at growing food, besides herbs. I've got these little guys all over my kitchen and I'm not so sure what to do. I know I need to transplant them but I'm kind of nervous about the whole process. I've got the containers and soil on the porch. I'm just not sure what to do if there is a freak snow storm which in Utah isn't unlikely. errr. I'm sure the little seedlings are super crowded. And I've got these zucc's starting to grow and no trellis ready for them. I'm not sure what point they'll need the support but I'm pretty sure they're not supposed to be too cold. Right now they're living on my kitchen counter. Any one have suggestions? I'm not sure why I'm so anxious about the transplanting/separating process but I am. I guess I just need to do it maybe tomorrow. After all they're in containers right? Worse comes to worse and I just have plants all over my house.

This Friday is ETSY day, get Ready!

This Friday is Etsy day. Please help spread the word however you can. Wear and use your favorite etsy purchases in public, tell a friend or stranger about Etsy, make signs, write a song, you get the idea. I'll be wearing my home made "Etsy dot com" shirt. Make your own, it's easier than pie.

1. Buy a cheap-o shirt, I did an Old Navy Tank top
2. Get some iron on letters, Joann's, Walmart, most any craft store (Seriously I already fixed the dyslexic T and S situation my shirt so no making fun, everyone gets those mixed up some time or another so much so that they should by Esty.com but that's another issue. Any ways learn from my mistake and spell it right.)
3. Write a simple slogan or just the word ETSY
4. Personalize it, I did a bird but really whatever you want. And here's a trick if you find a design online just hold a white piece of paper to the computer screen and trace it. It's easy to applique things by hand stitching or zigzaging on a sewing machine, but hey they've got fabric glue and safety pines and a cool thing called double sided interfacing (you'll have to read the instructions on that one)
5. Arrange your design, iron on and sew
...and this is the most important step
6. Put it on and go out in public and spread the Etsy word.

Shopping and Celebrating

Not that I need an excuse to shop but I'll make one up any chance I get. I got myself this little sewing machine charm by rjcharms for celebrating my 600th sale! Have I really made over 600 things for Etsy alone, eek that's a lot. When did I do it? Anyways I love my little charm and celebrating milestones.

I bought these earrings earlier. But I just adore them, they are so easy to wear and so simple but lovely at the same time. They came beautifully packaged and I just want more. Every color. The seller at southpawstudios was so extremely lovely that I think after I type up this post I'll go commission some custom work.

Growing Up

For the most part things that I loved and looked forward to as a kid have lost their luster. For example, Sizzlers, not such a fancy place, Kmart, kinda ghetto and those chocolate zingers, not worth the calories of one bite, they are so not yummy. But a MacDonald's happy meals still is delicious to me. Chicken Macnuggets and french fries oooh yeah. So that being said I love this treasury and am thrilled to be featured in it. Click here to visit it up close comment and help out with hotness. I absolutely love veryverdant's taste, not just the subject matter but all of it, love it!

p.s. something else that's just as good as when I was little? Lavar Burton, yup Jordie/Reading Rainbow guy. I think he's so cool.

Okay have a great week.

Customer Appreciation Pic and Blog Mention

Isn't this little one so adorable? The pictures are from talented photographer Heather Parkinson-Nelson a local Salt Lake dweller. Selling online means that I don't get to connect much with many Utahans. But more than sharing territory Heather figured out that she knew my music maker hubby from back in the day. And even weirder, she figured it all out because we went and had sushi for like the 50th time where she was working. Yeah umm very small world. Any ways her photos are so lovely and if you're interested you can visit her website where there are loads of goodies to peruse. Also here's another pic of her little one having her first soda. How proud am I? Me the soda addict gets to be part of a first soda via dress making, too cool.

Also she made mention of my little shop in her book review on a new cool blog We Chirp. It' the April 13, 2009 entry. Yep super cool. And the book does also sounds pretty interesting if you're a kid book fan, and really who isn't?

Naughty Time and Show and Tell: Easter Dresses

I hope you all had a great weekend and that those of you who celebrate Easter had a good time remembering the great sacrifice that was made for all of us.

As promised here are some pictures of the Easter dresses. Last year I stayed up making my own dress this year it's all about the girls and I threw on and old thing totally last minute. I am so happy with how these turned out. I'm excited for them to wear these in the summer without all the layers. I'll add them to my flickr in case anyone wants a closer look. The only sad thing is that I don't have any more of this fabric, this came from my stash. I do plan on making some outfits in these styles to sell but I'll have to find the right fabric.

Naughty Time: Busy busy enjoy my demented auntiness

So I'm having a busy week, lots left on the master to do list. I've got to somehow crank a paper out by the time people get to the office/check their emails tomorrow which probably means I'll be driving my paper up to campus tonight past midnight. I've got a bunch of orders to work on (but really when don't I) and I've got Tira and Lanna's Easter outfits to finish. I've finally decided on designs that I'm excited about but I stare out of my window to see more blasted snow on the mountain and the music maker told me my knee highs were too cold for today so boo I'm now wearing pants. Bring back spring. Unfortunately the girls will be getting springy dresses so the weather better snap into shape or they will be wearing tights and long sleeve shirts under their get ups. Hopefully I'll pictures for you soon. Well I'll have to by Monday right?

Anyways in the mean time enjoy one of the many videos we made with Lanna before she moved into her own place.

No More Stalling

I know I've kept on putting it off but I've finally set a date for the shop update. I've got a bunch of new goodies that need to be made available. I'll start putting stuff in the shop this Wednesday and keep going until I'm done. So I'm thinking there will be new stuff popping in the shop Wednesday through Friday. Check in and see the new stuff just in time for warmer weather...err I hope. I'll just ignore the news reports that another storm is heading our way. Boo.

Customer Appreciation Pic: Creative Uses

Okay another one from this sweetie. How funny is she. It just shows that reading breeds creativity. These are actually ruffle bums but it looks like they can also serve as a very lovely head piece.I know you can almost always find a use for little bottoms with ruffles (over onesies, under dresses, with baby legs etc.) but maybe I should go edit all of my listings so that people know just how versatile they really are. haha I love it!
