customer appreciation pic

Isn't this little one so stinking cute! So her mama did a custom order for this jumper and I just about died from love when I saw the fabric. This will be apart of the March update when that happens, I'm thinking closer to the middle of March but I'll keep you all posted.

Looks can be deceiving

So it looks like she's playing nice and eating all good but no it's not real. She's only like this for 4 maybe 5 bites. She's only had a ounce of milk max during the day while her mama is at work. And that is with uncle daniel distracting her, the awesome rain forest booster seat, and me sneaking bites in while she lets down her guard. Yesterday it was okay but today she freaked out for the last hour and a half because I think she was too hungry to sleep or play. The difference is that today she dribbled most of the food stuff down her face. Boo. We bought two more sippy cups today one with a tip that doesn't need to be sucked (I figured I'll tip it up and down) and one that has a straw. We will see.

All my cool Japanese fabrics came today woohoo. I've got a couple creations that Lanna needed (like a hat to match her outfit today) to share but besides orders that's all the sewing that's gotten done lately. New creations will come though.

Goodies Coming Soon

First off, I want to thank everyone for their advice on the feeding situation. We've tried a bunch of them and I got maybe a ounce total of a combination of milk, banana, and rice cereal into her. It's not much but I'm hoping I'll be able to get more down tomorrow and that it will be enough to tide her over during my sister's work day.

So I totally underestimated how fast my Japanese fabric would go. But I spend a whole bunch of money on more, some of the ones that I already shared and some new ones. It should get here today...fingers crossed. I'm quite excited. I'll finally be able to restock the Alice Jumper and list the new Little Red Ridding Hood one. These will be a part of the March Update which due to my week long bug and full time aunty-ing will be on the smaller side.

on the mend and baby experiment update

So I've got pictures to share but the baby is screaming on her way to slumberland right where the adapter is. I'm mostly healthy and trying to play a lot of catch up. The first few days of the great baby experiment of having my sister and her baby stay while they get settled were great. Then my sister got a temporary job set up for this coming week which first off is a bit further than we would like to drive (and she doesn't have her own car) but hopefully tomorrow she'll get a UT license and then maybe a rental. I think I got the baby sick so she was fussy. The music maker "jokingly" said he didn't want one. And I overheard him say to the baby "who are you where is the baby that came 5 days ago?". Then my sister realized that she'd have to figure out how her child would eat while she was working all day. The kid has never taken a bottle and the boob will be 20 minutes away. So the last two days have consisted of buying all different types of bottles, syringes, eye droppers, sippy cups, etc. and baby lanna screaming her head off as I try to dispense pumped milk into her with no success. At least I don't have to fight her to sleep because her hysterical crying wears her out so she just passes out as I try to calm her down from the traumatizing feeding attempts. She's almost 6 months I welcome any tips because my sister will be leaving the baby with us starting on Tuesday and I'd rather not just have her starve and freak out all day long. Seriously if we could just feed her it would be a breeze to take care of her but come on eating is an important part of the day. (she'll take 4 teeny bits of banana or rice cereal and then stop). Really any ideas from old baby sitting days or days of starting work or whatever send them over.

Happy President's Day

I'm quite sick, which is a huge bummer since I have so so much to do and since my sister and baby Lanna are here. It's one of those low energy, super congestion, head ache, sore throat and just completely plugged sinuses. Needless to say I'm hoping I can at least get better enough to finish a few orders that need to go out and review a paper for a conference that I promised to. Blah sickness at the most inconvenient times.

Anyways this piece of art is outside the kindergarten class at church (they have a day school too). But I thought it was hysterical because I thought it said "dog cabin".

Coraline, It's Hard to Say

So hands down an incredibly interesting movie. The concepts, the art, the story, the acting, all of it. It had that wonderful lost demented quality that the PC-ers have successfully killed but can be remembered in old school Sesame Streets and Muppet stuff. Don't get me wrong, I loved the 3D aspects, and the quirkiness and yeah but I really thought it was scary. I thought it was WAY more scary than The Nightmare Before Christmas. I'm so glad I watched it but I'm surprised at how scary I thought it was. Now note of course that the music maker and a couple of our friends who watched it the other day only thought small parts were a tad scary and definitely a good scary, but I don't know I thought it was scary. Something about the creepiness got to me, I decided to "hold it" all the way home instead of using the theater potty, yeah. But at the same time it was good, but I feel like it was almost good in a scary movie sort of way and I don't think I like scary movies. But at the same time I want to say it was so good. So there's my totally unhelpful review. Sorry, but that's all I can say.

One last thought: It's probably not the best for someone who does as much sewing as I do to be weirded out by buttons, I guess they'll be okay if they aren't on a face. There goes any probability of doll making.

Finally Doing Facebook's 25 things thing

no real order just how things popped into my head

1. I passionately hate pickles, if they are placed on my plate and touch my burger in any way I rip off that part of the burger to avoid the pickle juice, ack just writing about it makes me want to gag
2. I had blue hair through most of college
3. I cook when I'm anxious or stressed, I made 2 loaves of bread and empanadas today
4. We go to the pie pizzeria almost every week after sewing class late at night
5. I competed in gymnastics and ice skating when I was little
6. I love Harry Potter and I think I'm going to go into a depression when the last movie is over, maybe Rowling will keep pumping extra things out for more money, Beetle the Bard was awesome
7. If I could have a super power it would be to teleport or aparate in Potter terms, yup night crawler has the coolest powers and second would be his mama mystique
8. our entire house is basically one big fabric and book storage land, daniel has a small corner of records
9. I think red shoes makes any outfit cuter
10. I have a strong almost irrational sense of justice. If I see someone steal another person's parking spot I fume over it for hours.
11. When I experience a crappy/jerky driver I hope that they get four flat tires and that it's really expensive for them to replace them.
12. After wearing the same belly button rings in my ear holes for the last 13 years (minus the wedding day I wore pearl belly button rings) I've recently gotten into normal grown up earrings.
13. While I was in college I set out to tastes all the chicken strips and ranch at every eatery.
14. When I was in college I went to an average of 2 concerts a week, I wish there were more shows worth going to here, I miss it.
15. I love tv, a lot.
16. I'm a compulsive multitasker, I have to have music or the tv on at all times, I try to grade, sew on buttons and knit in the car (as the passenger) and I've even read while listening to the radio on the elliptical (many times actually).
17. My favorite candies are Bordeaux bars from See's but I'd take chips and dip over sweets any day
18. I don't know how to dance to typical club music but I go crazy for throw back soul-ish music
19. Sometimes I tell daniel to "stand there" and I run towards him and jump like we are awesome dancers in So You Think You Can Dance
20. I'm not an American Idol fan but I have it on as background and I officially hate the new judge.I think she's one of the most annoying human beings on earth and a freaking hypocrite. One second she's yelling over and cutting off Simon and the next she's claiming that he won't let her get a word in edge wise when he's trying to add something. I hate her the most and I don't think she adds anything to the show besides more pathetic emotionalism and without Paula's alcohol excuse.
21. I think the Red Box was a wonderful invention
22. A couple years ago I remember having to remind myself that it is a bit unusual to most people to see elephants walking on the road.
23. When I got Christmas cards this year I had to take last years cards down first in order to put the new ones up.
24. I used to think if I were on death row and had to request a last meal it would be cheesecake factory's buffalo blasts but now I think it would be Red Iguana's Suizas
25. I used to take tylenol for heartache, it worked kinda now it's solely for headaches.

If you get the chance...

...go see Adele. I absolutely love her and for my birthday the musicmaker gave me tickets to the beyond sold out show. It was wonderful, she was lovely, the venue people were a bunch of money grubbing jerks who I called the fire department on (it was majorly, unethically, beyond capacity). But in spite of them, with my skills of scooching to the front of concerts developed in biweekly college concert going, the show itself was SO wonderful.

So if you don't know who Adele is, go listen and fall in love. You've probably heard "Chasing Pavements" a lot of our regular radio stations play that. I absolutely love the whole album. It was so hard to chose a song to share so really, go listen to all of them. They are all a little different but fit together. Yeah any ways I love Adele.

Oh and did I mention that we saw David Archuleta who was guided to his own personal room to watch the performance?
